Counter-surveillance answers a different question than bug sweeping. TSCM looks for devices. Counter-surveillance looks for people, vehicles, and patterns that mean you are being followed, watched, or boxed in. Executives, counsel, people in bitter family disputes, and anyone who has already found a tracker often need both. How the investigation is done

We start with your routes, schedules, parking habits, and the incidents that triggered the concern. Investigators then run detection runs: varying your departure, using choke points, and watching who reacts. We log plates, make/model, and behaviour — pacing, leapfrogging, repeated passes. If a follow is confirmed, we document it and discuss whether to break it, ignore it, or involve police. If nothing is there, that finding still has value. Device sweeps are a sister service; we will recommend TSCM when the threat looks electronic rather than human.

Legal and ethical limits

We document watchers. We do not assault them, trap them, or impersonate police. If the other party is a licensed investigator on a lawful file, the answer may be that you are being observed legally. We will still tell you what we saw. Harassment and stalking are police matters when thresholds are met; we preserve evidence for that hand-off.

Who typically retains this work

Individuals in conflict, corporate principals, lawyers protecting a witness, and people who already found a device. We decline requests to counter-surveil someone as a way to interfere with a lawful investigation of your own conduct.
